A Brilliant Evening at Babington Academy

On Wednesday 23rd September 2026, Babington Academy welcomed families from across our community to our Open Evening. The school was alive with energy from the moment the doors opened, and it was a real pleasure to show so many visitors what life at Babington is all about.

Our Principal, Fiona Laywood, opened the evening with a warm welcome. Speaking about the ambition we hold for every learner and the supportive community that helps them flourish. Many families stayed on afterwards to chat, ask questions and find out more.

Visitors then explored the academy at their own pace. Departments across the school opened their doors, with plenty to see, try and talk about along the way. Our PE department proudly showed off Babington Bolts, the new sports identity launched this term, and it caught the eye of many future learners.

As always, our learners were the heart of the evening. They led tours, welcomed guests and spoke with pride about their school. Their confidence and warmth left a lasting impression on everyone they met.
