Key Stage 3 Assessment - Maths
KS3 Key Knowledge and Skills
Below are 10 key target areas of mathematics that we would like learners to be confident with by the end of KS3.
Learners will be tested on one component of each target in every summative assessment they complete.
Following the assessment, learners will be set one target to work on to help improve their performance in their next assessment.
For each target there are suggested resources on Sparx Maths and CorbettMaths that they can use to practise this skill.
Sparx MathsLearners should log in to Sparx using their normal school email and password.
They should use the ‘Log in to Sparx using Microsoft’ option to do this.
Once logged in they should use the ‘Independent Learning’ Tab.
They then type the code for the area they want to practise into the ‘search for topics’ bar.
Once a task has been selected, learners can check their understanding by selecting each item and answering the questions.
If learners are unsure how to answer a question a support video is available:
If learners are finding the topic very challenging, they can begin by completing the ‘building blocks’ at the top of the page, or adjusting the ‘Level’ of the content.
Once they have completed the topic, they can continue to improve by repeating that topic again at a harder level, or by moving on to the next component.
